Safety Concern: Impact Protection Design
While we don’t cut corners on material, design and quality, we had to cut all the corners and sharp edges on this particular product. We did our best to smooth and round all the surfaces to protect the rider in case of an impact with the GPS mount.
Special precautions have been taken during the design process on the rounded corners and hidden swivels to make sure we reduced the potential of injuries during the ride. Bikes fall, riders fall and there is no telling on what a sharp cornered metal part can inflict on the riders.
During the design phase, the focus was on safety. Since we know things can go wrong during off road and rally challenges, we tried our best to minimize the risks for the bike, equipment and most importantly, for the rider.

Charging the GPS during the race
Since races can take longer than anticipated, landscapes, photo ops and stories can take their toll on your GPS’s batteries, we designed a dedicated port that allows the Garmin Etrex charging from your bike’s electrical system.
Vibration Dampening
Special precautions have been also taken for the vibration dampening. The bikes endure the toughest of treatments during the enduro races, therefore vibrations and shocks are nearly constant during the events. The last thing you want during a tough ride is to have your GPS vibrate to the point where batteries lose contact and your GPS decides to turn off.
To go one step further, the Etrex GPS Mount has been designed so that it fits a Garmin Etrex GPS already covered in a silicone casing.
The silicone casing is already included in the package, and we also carry spare parts in stock in case you decide to change the color.

Replacing the batteries
Opening the Garmin Etrex GPOS mount is as straightforward and as fast as it can be. We designed and installed a spring stainless steel pin that hold the GPS Mount lid in place and allows for very fast release, by means of decently sized ring that can be pulled with any gloves on. It really doesn’t get any simpler and faster than that.
Speaking of batteries and potential failures, vibration on bikes is a big issue for the electronics. This is why we have designed the rubber dampening system that will keep your GPS batteries from moving around and protect your GPS’s sensitive electronic components.
AMPS Pattern Compatibility
The mounting system has been designed with full compatibility in mind, therefore the handlebar ring has a 48.5 mm (1.912 inch) distance between the bolts, to ensure full compatibility with the AMPS pattern standard.
